Pumping Iron is a surprisingly inspirational 1970's documentary on the subject of body building starring none other than a young and cocky Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime and the Hulk himself, a young undiscovered Lou Ferrigno!
The doc is pretty dated with enough 70's lol material to keep your attention, but beyond that, it's filled with entertaining and sometimes amazing dialogue from the future superstar and governor, Mr. Schwarzenegger, which makes this totally worth watching. By the end of it, like me, you'll believe that Arnold is the most confident and focused man on the planet.

Monty Oum Monday
While on a break from editing a short ninja turtle parody, my curiosity grew as I thought about what the status of Monty's current series "RWBY" is. It led me on a short hunt through numerous online forums seeking the answer to this question and here's what I found at this link:

I tried several times to embed it but for whatever reason the code won't copy. Anyway the link leads to a podcast addressing his passing, his properties, and (as far as I know since I'm listening to it now) what's next for "RWBY". Here's all four trailers for his series RWBY. The trailers act as a prologue to the series showcasing a taste of the story and visual style to expect. I won't lie to you, the animation is an acquired taste, but it is a specific style. An artistic choice. Art is about being different and presenting something fresh and unseen to the viewer (imo). If you can open your mind and enjoy the story and accept the visual art style, and music, you will be treated to an excellent action series. I think the series is awesome and I admire anyone who's able to achieve such a feat.
Anyway, I'll post the 1st episode on the next Monty Oum Monday. Enjoy RWBY's prologue episodes!

I hate IGN (now). Everyone at IGN come off as pretentious, snarky, G4 wannabes, but from time to time they do offer quality updates and news, when they're not trying to dictate what's "cool". In Memory Of Monty Oum
I'm sad to say that another one of my inspirations has passed. Monty Oum, the 33 year old creator of Dead Fantasy, Haloid, and my personal favorite RWBY has tragically passed away a few weeks ago. I could write about what made him so good, why he's my inspiration, but I'd rather like to honor him as well as my other fallen heroes with a day of dedication for each, showcasing my personal favs that feed my artistry. It's Monday (still is at the present time in L.A.) and I'd like to honor Monty today on my 1st Monty Oum Monday. On tonight's menu...

The Fantasy That's Stealing My Life
So many distractions, but none worse or more pleasant than that of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
I originally bought the game about a year ago under the false pretense that it was a regular multiplayer RPG (Role Playing Game), but to my dismay, I learned that it is the last of a dying breed of pay to play (p2p) games. Tried to return it the very next day and was rejected by the very same Gamestop that sold me the title. Reason why, the game hardcodes somehow to what ever system that boots it up. Long and the short of it, once it's opened they can't trust that the game wasn't used.
So I signed up for the service, got a 30 day free trial and tested the waters. It was cool, but something was missing. Fast forward a year later and my close friend Anthon, picks up a PS4 and a copy of FFXIV to play with me, so I paid the fourteen bucks for a month of play and jumped back into the world of ARR and to my surprise I know what was missing. The investment of a friend with the experience. I cared about missions, upgrading, storylines, knitting (yes, for complete immersion, knitting must be achieved!), and I'm hooked.
The cinematics are mind blowing. Even the video I posted above is missing the smooth clarity that only the ps4 with an amazing flat screen can present.
In turn, I have completed absolutely nothing this week. It's like knowing that I paid fourteen bucks has motivated me to play everyday, or that's my excuse. In one week I've played more videogames than I've played in one year and I truly understand how WoW (World Of Warcraft) players lose everything in their lives to a videogame. I'm in so much trouble and I've got three more weeks left (o_O)

Can You See What I See?
I've started drawing again. It's been about 15-20 years. Maybe more, and it shows. It'll take some time and practice, but I'll get sharper at it. What I'd eventually love to do is start incorporating my drawing skills into making better storyboards for the films I'd like to shoot.

So from here on out, I'm gonna start posting more things that I've worked on and or created so that my blog has a nice blend of not only the things I'm inspired by, but also what those things inspire me to do.
Here's my most recent work, "Ratchet Point", a comedic short written by Chamia Lane, starring Sachiko Ishida and Quavail "Q" Leontay, with fight choreography by Mark G. Elefane. I provided the camera work, editing, and the additional musical track, "Shine" was performed by Benny Chavez.

DMC Definitive looks awesome! Although I've already got it for the 360, but I don't have all of the dlc that comes with it, so that's my excuse.
God Eater 2 is looking pretty damn sweet also! Loved everything about the 1st, which I've gotta get back on so I can finish it in time for this one!
And while we're on the topic of upcoming games...
When Street Fighter V drops, I'll probably disappear from all human life for about 3-6 months! Street Fighter Junkie
So I've recently gotten into watching other videogame players on Twitch, especially within the fighting game genre. It's like interactive reality tv... except it's live (most of the time) and it's something you actually want to see and don't feel guilty about afterwards... that is if videogames are your thing. Evil Residents
Just took a stop over at Gametrailers.com (check the vid above if you're curious) for their review on the new remaster of the twenty year old title "Resident Evil" which I was happy to see it received an awesome score! Of course I'll share my own opinion after I pick up the game for myself, but I can't imagine the father of the survival horror videogame genre sucking that much after an hd rehash for next gen systems. Onimusha immediately comes to mind when I think of other Capcom titles I'd like to see receiving the same treatment.
After Resident Evil this was my second favorite survival horror series.
There's something unique and fresh about using the Samurai time period in Japan as the setting for a horror story. I remember feeling the same dread from resident evil at times, but then a strength in knowing to facts: 1) I'm a bad ass Samurai 2) I'm a bad ass Samurai that can use the demon's own power to transform my weapons, and eventually myself into a beast more powerful than my enemy.
I don't wanna go on and on about this like it's a Christmas wish list to Santa, so I'm done for now.
Yes that is Jean Reno featured as a character in the 3rd and most epic part of the series! In fact, one of the coolest things about the Onimusha trilogy is that each of its protagonists are all established well known Japanese actors. Definitely ahead of the game seeing that the first Onimusha dropped back in 2001, the 2nd (my favorite) in 2002, and the 3rd and most epic of the 3 in 2004. A title I would gladly return to, even if I've gotta reclaim a PS2.
